My Work

I have been passionate about writing since college and am lucky to be able to meet so many people and tell their stories. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve written on a variety of topics and still get excited to see my name in print or get a front page story!

I am currently writing for the following publications:

I was fortunate to join Starnes Publishing in April 2015 as a freelance journalist and joined the staff full-time as a community reporter in February 2019. In August 2019, I moved up to Community Editor for 280 Living. Of their seven publications, I do most of my writing for 280 Living, but you can find stories by me in the other six papers:  Cahaba Sun, Iron City Ink, Vestavia Voice, Homewood Star, Hoover Sun, Village Living.

The majority of my stories are on new businesses, profiles on those making an impact in their community and event previews. I also compile/edit calendars for the papers. You can click on the name of the publications above for links to my articles in each one.

I tried a whole new thing when I was contracted in August 2018 to write for the 2019 issue of Alabama Weddings Magazine. It was a fun transition to writing about weddings, vendors and styled photo shoots. There are four different covers each year, one released each season. I continue working with them as their social media manager.

I have been a contributor for BMB since September 2017. Birmingham Moms Blog launched in March 2017 and is part of the City Moms Blog Network, which is currently in over 75 cities across the country.

This a locally focused parenting website written BY Birmingham Moms, FOR Birmingham Moms featuring articles sharing diverse perspectives on motherhood and highlights events and happenings in our area.

Here are my blogs from that site:
